My name is Lino Maggio, a resident of Hobart Township my entire life. My wife, Nicole, and I have raised our 2 sons, Hayden and PJ, here. A lifelong member of St. Bridget’s Church, I graduated from Hobart High School and attended the IUN School of Public and Environmental Affairs. I have been a Teamster (Local 142) employed by G. W. Berkheimer for 30 years. My involvement in the Hobart community includes 3 terms on the City Council, serving on the Finance Committee as Chair, the Fire Department, Streets and Alleys, Master Plan, Working Conditions, and Economic Development Committees, and the Contractors Licensing Board. Prior to joining the Hobart City Council, I served one term on the Hobart Civil Service Fire Commission, which oversees hiring and disciplinary actions against firefighters at the Hobart Fire Department. I have also served on the boards of Hobart Little League and the YMCA, and coached Hobart Pop Warner Football and Hobart Little League.
The residents of Hobart Township deserve better representation in the Assessor’s office! Taxpayers should expect fair and unbiased treatment from their Assessor, no matter who they know. I believe in open and honest communication, and am committed to make positive changes as Assessor.
I bring years of service to Hobart Township and a dedication to improving the lives of my neighbors to this office. I will bring my experience, work ethic, compassion, and most of all, integrity to the job.
I promise to:
-
Treat ALL Hobart Township residents with the respect they deserve.
-
Manage a professional office, ending political patronage. Customer service, transparency, and accountability will be our main focus.
-
Provide all taxpayers with positive, transparent, and FAIR treatment, taking the time to explain the assessment process. While state codes and guidelines govern that process and we cannot guarantee a favorable result, I want every property in Hobart Township to be given a true and equitable fair market value.
Hobart Township residents CAN do better. I pledge to use my skills, experience, and solid track record of service to bring positive changes to the Assessor’s office. Please help me make a difference by voting for me for Assessor of Hobart Township on May 3rd. I need and greatly appreciate your support, and will not let you down.
